0101

From Across The River

For three days we stayed at my Uncle Billy's place which is directly across the Hudson River in Jersey City. This is the view about three blocks away. Absolutely incredible.

0201

Wall St.

On the first day in the city, my Billy took us around the downtown area. This sculpture is on Wall St (for a bull market - get it?)

0301

Madison Avenue

The only thing we could afford to take home from Madison Ave. was this picture.

0401

On The Way Up

This was taken in the lobby of the Empire State Building. A few moments after I took this shot we were on the 86th floor overlooking New York City.

0501

Fiona and Mum on top of the world.

0601

Nighttime View From the Top

It's incredible during the day and spectacular at night.

0701

Zebra Car

This car was parked outside a store in SoHo. Pretty cool.

0801

Village Artist

This guy was painting a painting of the corner on the corner.

Think about it.

0802

The San Gennaro Festival

The oldest, largest and liveliest festa, the Feast of San Gennaro began in 1926 and now attracts more than 3 million people over 11 days in September. It's a smorgasbord of greasy delights and creamy pastries.

When I was at University, we used to go into the city for this every year. It's a great time.

1001

Smoked Beef

This guy had a whole thing rigged up to cook his steaks. Glenys had a piece and said it was delicious.

1101

Eight Mile Creek

"Authentic Australian Flavors"? Does that mean everything tastes like Vegemite?

1201

Oink oink.

1301

Deep Fried Oreos

An oreo is a kind of chocolate cookie/biscuit. Try to imagine a Tim Tam that's been battered and fried. Obviously this is disgusting, and I was too afraid to try one. I mean, just look at that guy.

(For those unfortunate souls who are not familiar with the Tim Tam, I suggest reading up on the subject at http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Atrium/2436/timtams/.)

And finally, a photo of the best advertising I've ever seen.
